Train to Portland!

I'm so behind in my posting! I take too long moving pictures from the camera to the computer, so I'm always way behind! Last month my little sister Jamie came for a visit from Chicago. The first week-end she was here we decided to take a train to Portland and have some good 'ole girl bonding time. We had always wanted to take a train somewhere, so we were really excited to plan this overnight trip! So, kissing the girls and Dave goodbye (such a wonderful hubby), we got to the train station not knowing what to expect. By the way, the train is not like the airport where you have to arrive 3 hours before your flight! We sat there and sat there waiting and waiting reading magazines and chatting. (Thanks Rach for the magazines!) Finally the train came - I'm sure we looked so nutty - we ran to get in the front of the line and were a little too giddy finding our seats. We sang the train song from White Christmas (yes, we are dorks) and talked about murder mysteries (all the good ones are on a train, didn't you know?) Finally we got there - the Portland station was gorgeous! Just like it was from an old movie! We lucked out in finding a shuttle outside the station to take us to the Marriot! Luckily some other passenger made arrangements - otherwise we would have walked across a busy bridge and another mile or so carrying our luggage. To make a long story short (well, a little shorter) we had a great time sleeping in and swimming and shopping (and don't forget my lame frozen yogurt post) of course! Jamie's visit was too short and at the end of the week she went back home. We miss you Jamie!

carrie,
Hey why don't we plan on having playgroup at the park in my neighborhood and then if it rains they can come on over. I don't have the directions to the park. Its just straight into the neighborhood make the last right off of 45th, then the first left and the park is on the right?? Should I drive there and right street names down??

Yeah, street names would be good! Then I can post them on the playgroup blog!
